DMK’s signature skin revision formulation. Revitosin contains a blend of Vitamin A derivatives aimed to regulate cellular turnover and encourage healthy skin. It is recommended for those who suffer from premature aging, acne, pigmentation, scarring, and clients undergoing a professional skin revision program.
This formulation is intended for professional use only. Revitosin is one of DMK’s signature formulations, a vitamin A concentrated cream, and an essential component of Skin Revision treatment programs. Revitosin normalizes and regulates cellular proliferation, maturation, and desquamation. It helps break up pigmentation and renews cells and tissues for a more youthful appearance.
Vitamin A stimulates dermal activity within the fibroblasts, increasing the number of fibroblasts and their activity. This dual action reinforces the structures and improves the integrity and density of the skin’s underlying support system of collagen, elastin, and GAGs. Vitamin A is an antioxidant that reduces oxidative damage and stress to refine and restore vitality in the epidermis.
Oleic Acid
An omega-9 fatty acid that permeates the skin's surface to replenish lost moisture and prevent TEWL. Oleic acid is an antioxidant-rich and antiinflammatory oil that promotes wound healing and offsets free radical damage and oxidative stress. It also strengthens cell membranes, rebalances skin lipids, and soothes inflamed skin conditions.
Retinol
The vitamin A precursor to retinoic acid. Retinol helps restore vitamin A levels in damaged skin, boosts cell turnover, and helps reduce redundant cuticle. It also clears out congestion in follicles, improves texture, irregular pigmentation, and signs of aging. As with other vitamin A derivatives, retinol is antioxidant, inhibits MMPs, and strengthens the skin by thickening the dermis.
Retinyl Palmitate
A type of vitamin A that is enzymatically converted to retinoic acid in the skin, but without the irritation potential. Vitamin A is critical for the long-term maintenance of healthy skin. It slows the mechanisms of aging by inhibiting collagen breakdown and MMPs, promoting glycosaminoglycan (GAG) synthesis, repairing photodamage, and facilitating collagen production. Topical application of Retinyl Palmitate speeds wound healing, smooths texture, reduces pigmentation, evens tone, boosts elasticity, and refines wrinkles.
Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil (Jojoba)
Jojoba is an oil rich in fatty acids and waxy esters. Ithas some similarities to natural sebum (sebum is ~ 26% waxy esters) and works superficially to restore and reinforce barrier function. This ingredient is anti-inflammatory, emollient, and softening.
Resorcinol Acetate
Aphenolic compound (phenol and acetic acid) that is antibacterial, keratolytic, and anti-inflammatory. It is found in many hair and skincare formulations.
Ipomoea Batatas Root Extract (Sweet Potato)
Roots are the concentrated storage sites of the plant's nutrition that contain vitamins, minerals, proteins, and essential biocompatible compounds. Sweet potato contains compounds like phenolics, flavonoids, anthocyanin, and carotenoids, which provide antioxidant, antiinflammatory, immune, and wound healing benefits.
Beta-carotene
A carotenoid stored in the skin and a precursor to vitamin A. Beta-carotene protects from environmental, oxidative, and UV-induced damage, inhibiting immunosuppression and erythema caused by UV exposure. Beta-carotene also protects collagen and linoleic acid in cell membranes from damage caused by ROS.
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)
The most bioadaptable™ form of vitamin E and a powerful antioxidant. Tocopheryl acetate strengthens the skin's barrier function, protects the skin barrier-lipid balance, and reduces TEWL. Itis also softening, anti-inflammatory, and photoprotective, preventing keratinocyte “sunburn cell” formation and lipid peroxidation after UV exposure.
Acacia Catechu Catechins (Black Cutch)
A. Catechu catechins are gallic acid derivatives with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, analgesic, photoprotective, and wound healing benefits. These phenolic botanical compounds increase glutathione levels and protect cells and the extracellular matrix from UV exposure and environmentally induced damage. They offer additional support to the dermis by actively increasing collagen synthesis, mediating the inflammatory response, and inhibiting MMPs.
Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate
A newer retinoid that provides increased retinoic activity without the potential irritations of traditional vitamin A ingredients. It binds directly to the cell receptors without needing to be metabolically broken down or converted before use.
- Apply directly to cleansed skin. A second layer may be applied to targeted treatment areas.
- No sprays or other products are used underneath or on top of Revitosin.
Prescribe for clients with sun damage, fine lines, premature aging, wrinkles, pigmentation, and scarring. In acneic skin, Revitosin’s vitamin A concentrations can help clear impaction, reduce inflammation, normalize cellular function, and prevent or reduce scars and PIH.
