Acu Klear uses salicylic acid to kill acne bacteria and dry up active acne. However, it goes much further with its sophisticated combination of herbal extracts and ingredients which are anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, and free radical scavengers. These natural ingredients are combined into a pure treatment lotion that provides faster acting relief from acne and clearer-looking skin in just days.
Acu Klear is a lightweight water-based lotion that deeply permeates follicles, reducing and preventing breakouts. It clears the skin by lightly exfoliating the epidermis, regulating sebum and cell turnover, and reducing acne-causing bacteria. In addition to its acne-fighting aspects, Acu Klear contains antioxidants, pigment inhibitors, humectants, emollients, replenishing fatty acids, and ingredients that protect, promote wound healing, support barrier repair, and reduce TEWL.
Salicylic Acid
A lipid-soluble beta hydroxy acid that helps epidermal cells properly shed. Salicylic acid permeates the pores to clear infection, dead cell material, and oil impactions. It prevents acne by being anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antifungal. Because salicylic acid is lipophilic, it can visibly reduce enlarged pores.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that reduces inflammation, blotchiness, free radicals, papules, pustules, and lesions in acneic skin. This ingredient increases ceramide and free fatty acid synthesis to reinforce skin barrier lipids, which reduces TEWL. It also permeates easily to reduce the appearance of pores and inhibits the transfer of melanosomes to keratinocytes, limiting PIH and hyperpigmentation.
Dimethicone
An emollient, occlusive skin protectant that forms a vapor-permeable barrier on the skin. Dimethicone promotes healing and repair while reducing irritation, dryness, and moisture loss.
Krameria Triandra Root Extract
An astringent, antifungal, and antibacterial botanical. Contains potent antioxidant polyphenols, specifically OPCs (oligomeric proanthocyanins), which can improve vein function and ease swelling.4 Krameria Triandra inhibits elastase (the enzyme which degrades collagen) and has UVB photoprotective benefits. It also modulates the hormonal flux that stems from internal and external stressors.
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP)
A lipophilic stable form of vitamin C. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that stimulates collagen synthesis, inhibits tyrosinase, and reduces pigmentation while protecting from oxidative and environmental stress. It is also involved in the ‘recycling’ of vitamin E for its reactivation in the skin. MAP can brighten, soften, smooth, and strengthen skin.
Dimethyl Isosorbide
A powerful solvent and permeation enhancer, DMI acts as a carrier and delivery agent of actives in a formula. DMI also has antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial benefits.
Azelamide MEA
Contains many of the same benefits as azelaic acid without the potential irritation and side effects. Azelamide inhibits acne; it is antibacterial, exfoliating, reduces inflammation by scavenging free radicals, balances sebum, and is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. It has also been shown to fade pigmentation.
Zine Oxide
An anti-inflammatory mineral used in the body for protein synthesis, immune system support, and enzyme function. It is used topically to treat acne, rosacea, wounds, eczema, and other inflammatory skin conditions. Zinc Oxide is astringent, antimicrobial, reduces sebum levels, and protects as a broad-spectrum UVA and UVB filter and sunscreen agent.
Gluconolactone
A fruit-derived polyhydroxy acid (PHA), chelator, and free radical scavenger.
After cleansing, dab Acu Klear on areas of congestion until absorbed. May use fingertips or a cotton ball. Follow with DMK oils, sprays, nourishing creams, and SPF.
